The more cores a processor has, the more "multitasking" it can do. The MHz is the overall speed range that the processor can run at (base speed to boost speed). Cache is how much the processor can "memorize" before transferring data to your RAM. TDP is an estimation of how much electricity it will draw.

This processor is the cheapest option here but it's no pushover. With a great amount of cache and high speed at its reasonable wattage, this is much more than enough for most people, and a great option for gamers. Unless you're a streamer, this will be enough for most people.

This processor is basically the 7600, but it runs faster. As a result, it eats up more electricity and gets hotter. Definitely recommended for gamers.
Ryzen 7 7700: 8 Cores, 16 Threads. 3800MHz-5300MHz. Cache - 40MB. TDP - 65W. Comes with cooler.
This is better for streamers and video editors than the Ryzen 5 family, thanks to its slightly higher cache and more cores.

This is just the 7700 but with a higher speed and it eats up more electicity, thus making it run hotter. If you're streaming FPS games like Call of Duty, you're going to love this.

Imagine the Ryzen 7 7700X but somehow more power-hungry but with a lower speed. Yet somehow it runs games even better. Thanks to the enormous onboard cache, you'll experience lower loading times during intense moments in games, making this effecitvely faster than the 7700X. We highly recommend liquid cooling at this TDP.

This is definitely entering a more niche territory. The Ryzen 9 family is more for content creators and video editors who don't want to get into Threadripper, or streamers with CPU ambition. With a high cache and high core count, the 7900 is a pro at handling many applications at once, far more than the average person may need.
Ryzen 9 7900X: 12 Cores, 24 Threads. 4700MHz-5600MHz. Cache - 76MB. TDP - 170W.
It's the 7900 but with a much higher TDP and faster speeds. Do NOT attempt to run this without liquid cooling or you will more than likely suffer performance issues. This will likely be half the reason your room is hotter than the rest of the house. However, this processor will perform if you can tame the heat output.
Ryzen 9 7900X3D: 12 Cores, 24 Threads. 4400MHz-5600MHz, Cache - 140MB. TDP - 120W. Uses 3D V-Cache.
This is the 7900X with somehow a lower power draw and more cache. Whether it's content creation, gaming, streaming, or anything inbetween, this processor can do nearly whatever you throw at it.
Ryzen 9 7950X: 16 Cores, 32 Threads. 4500MHz-5700MHz. Cache - 80MB. TDP - 170W.
If your project calls for "as many cores as possible", the 7950X is AMD's top offering before their flagship 7950X3D. With enough cores and threads to blow through video editing (compared to other similarly-priced processors), you won't be waiting very long for even demanding workloads. Even if you are, you can use the remaining cores to run games in the background. Ask not what can it do, but rather what can it not do?

This is the top processor that AMD can offer. Utilizing the core count of the 7950X with the TDP of the other -X3D processors, all with a high speed and 3D V-Cache means you're receiving no compromises and only the best from AMD. The only step up is Threadripper, and unless you're a video editor, this processor is the most you will reasonably need.
