SATA 3 Solid State Drives, or just SATA 3 SSDs, use the same physical cables as hard drives, but run roughly 3-4 times faster due to how they work. Because they don't use moving parts and instead opt for more responsive flash storage, they use less electricity while being much faster. They're a little more expensive than hard drives, but SSDs are becoming more and more affordable with each passing year. SSDs function best when data saved on them is kept and read. They tend to die off quicker when data is constantly saved then deleted off them. For this reason, saving frequently used files or games on them is usually a great idea!All SSDs listed average about 450-500mbps write speeds and 500-550 read speeds.
